Definitely lots of predators lol, but I know I'll find someone who is fair if I keep hunting.

Fortunately they have to do it right, or it won't pass inspection, and our code people are so ridiculous that if it passes it's probably going to be solid for 1000 years.

3500-5500 isn't too bad. If you can get the better of the contractors to get to $4500, I think I'd get going on the project.

I think the prices are up because they are all so busy now.. I bet if it was 2 years ago I could have gotten it done for 2500. Someone priced out the concrete itself for me at like $1200, so digging a trench and putting down some 2x4 or 2x6 frames shouldn't be all that hard... you'd think..

When comparing prices, be sure to verify that they include digging the footers, pouring the footers, build up to grade (typically block), and the actual slab and prep under the slab.
I think they meant 12" wide footers, the depth is dependant on the soil and frost line depth (which I am guessing might be 24" minimum).

Absolutely, I want someone to do both the setup/forming and the pour.

I'm getting so frustrated at this point that I might not even build it. Now I'm going backwards and thinking about just using a 2 car metal car-port.

Others want to schedule it out months in advance (I needed the repairs before we could put our house on the market so waiting months wasn't an option).
By the way this guy was nice, but was the most expensive out of everyone I spoke with, double the price of what some gave.
