I live Uptown. I own, but you can easily pay $1,000 for a 1 bedroom Uptown.
I would strongly suggest Uptown due to your age and would be more Urban (what you are use to).
Post Apartments have -2- nice locations Uptown. Post Gateway & Post Uptown Place would be the 2 that I started with and also 4th Ward Sqaure. I would stay away from the apartments over in 1st Ward (forgot the name).
