Tonight offers a clear look at who you voted to represent you in your district. I have no interest in how this vote comes out, but I am watching with great interest. I'm seeing some Grade-A BS, political CYA and various and sundry crap. If you don't see it, you're blind or just blinded by your political ideology.

Remember this next election cycle.

Charlotte really is a culturally lagging city. They are unable to do what most cities did decades ago.

It was decades ago that other cities let Transgender choose where they drop duece? Fascinating.

Perhaps Charlotte isn't willing to knee-jerk vote to protect against what really isn't a problem. There were supporters claiming trans folk were being targeted. I ask them to show statistics/proof. One would believe that if a transgender person was attacked it would make the news. Can anyone provide links to stories about these attacks in Charlotte? Perhaps the trans aren't as endangered as some would have us believe?

To backtrack, how would a cabbie know if someone is gay? Or Trans? Sorry to burst bubbles, but not everyone cares if you're a pitcher or a catcher. The only way people know is if you tell them. Be gay. Be proud. Don't be surprised when people are repulsed.

And there we have exhibit A above why people laugh when Chalotte claims to be a real city. Bozeman, MT and Columbia has more modern and progressive human rights and civil rights laws than Charlotte. Charlotte has earned its reputation as a town that wants to be big, but lacks the character and content of a real city. Almost every other major and mid size city has comprehensive LGBT laws, most passed long ago.

I don't think letting some trannies use the women's bathroom is going to push us over the cliff of acceptance.

Fact is perverts could falsely intend to go into these bathrooms and get their kicks off.

The fact that your litmus test is a couple people on city-data to represent 800,000+ people shows how silly your post is.

They removed the bathroom clause in an amendment prior to the final vote. That seemed to be the big fear mongering issue. So many uninformed people thought that was the only item on the table.

Either way, it was removed and they still didn't pass the rest of the policy.

2 council members who supported the item voted against the final version because they thought it wasn't a strong enough measure.

they removed it and then the supporters voted against it. So much for compromise.

Well Hombre our lack of character and content of a real city certainly is not stopping people from moving here. Progressive or not we are chugging along just fine.
