I have a bunch of clothing that I can get rid of and don't want to throw out. Is there any Big Brothers/ Big Sisters or any other clothing accepting charity around S. Charlotte/ Union County that I can donate to?

Thanks,
SF

There is a Goodwill dropoff point in Union County on Providence Rd. just south of Newtown Rd. You may be able to find one closer to you though.

Don't use the red boxes. They are not Goodwill dropoffs and are run by a for profit company.

I believe there is one at the corner of Providence Rd/Ballantyne Commons Pkwy/McKee Rd...a truck, not a building.

Main page for Goodwill around Charlotte - home

From Donation Sites (http://www.goodwillsp.org/donationsites.html - broken link) ....

Donation Sites

Goodwill has 31 donation sites conveniently located throughout Mecklenburg, Union, Lincoln, Gaston and Cleveland Counties in North Carolina; and Lancaster and York Counties in South Carolina.

In addition to our attended donation trailers, listed below, Goodwill's 19 retail stores also serve as donation drop-off centers. I like giving my old clothes / donations to the Nexus Church that Forest Hills Church supports. I know that when they take the donations they distribute them to the homeless and needy.

Default Crisis Assistance Ministry

You can also donate clothing and furniture to Crisis Assistance Ministry. http://www.crisisassistance.org

Crisis Assistance donates to those in need. There is a large need for men's clothing, if you have any. Crisis Assistance also runs a furniture store off Treemont where those in need can obtain free furniture.
