My fiance and I are an African American couple who have decided to move to Charlotte from Ohio in June 2008. I was wondering where are the best places to live that has an excellent school system for my 12 year old daughter.

Telling people about what you can afford will help them steer you in the right direction...

Of course most people are biased to their individual areas.

Visit and consult a realtor and hopefully they will steer you in the right direction.

GOOD LUCK!

We would be willing to pay anywhere from $500-850/per month.

I don't think you will find what you are looking for in that price range unless you can live in a 2 bedroom at $850 per month in a nice area will be hard to come by. I'd do my best to stretch to $1000 per month for your 2br.

We live in Charlotte, 28227 and pay $850 for a 3 bedroom, we are over near Margaret wallace/Idlewild/Lawers rd. Charlotte, Mathews and Mint Hill town lines all meet here. Our Daughter attends Northeast Middle, she is also 12, she'll be an 8th grader next year. She loves it and we are also happy with the school. I know others will say there are better middle schools, yes there are, But for the rent we can afford we are very happy here.
Hope this helps.
