I am looking to buy a new King size mattress and I was wondering if anyone can suggest a good brand and specific model name. I am looking for plush mattress as I am mostly a side-sleeper. Any recommendations? thanks

We just bought all new beds for the family and we went with Denver Mattress (Furniture Row) over by Ikea. I'm a side sleeper too.

We couldn't see spending $2000 - $6000 for the Serta iComfort (our first choice thru the process) or the Temperpedic beds in the stores we checked. The Sleep Number beds didn't impress us at all. Original Mattress Company beds were too springy/bouncy. We also looked at all of the 'typical' local franchise stores and were even considering online companies (Saatva, etc.).

Bottom line... Denver Mattress just seemed to have the best beds for the prices. We figure that if this set bombs out in 4 or 5 years (not that we plan that to happen), we're still ahead of the game.

EDIT TO ADD... Check out SleepLikeTheDead-dot-Com too. I found a lot of great information on that site.

Honestly check out the Ikea mattresses. We've been impressed for the value.

Thanks for the replies... I will check our Denver Mattress- which particular model did you end up getting. The price on the Doctor's choice is really good , will have to try it out.

I just bought a Simmons Beautyrest and I love it!

This is the one I bought:
Simmons Beautyrest Recharge Shakespeare Luxury Pillowtop Mattress - SI6695 - Sleepy's

Sleepy's does price match and they matched to a comparable mattress that 1800matress.com had for $976 and that's what I paid for it including box spring, delivery, and taxes. $976 out the door :-)

I ended up purchasing the Sleep number p5 mattress. I love the fact that you can adjust the firmness level to your liking. Was a bit pricey but I expect this mattress to last me for many years.

We have bought about 5 mattress sets from the Original Mattress Factory and love everyone. It costs about $800-$900 for a king size, but it is well worth it.

I had an aching back from our old mattress and feel so much better using their mattresses.
