This is in no way a political statement... but gosh I wish the President would stop traveling in or out of Charlotte during rush hour... the last time he was here it was a nightmare on I-77 (which was totally closed) and around the airport. I got a good laugh out of CMPD stating we wont mind because we are already used to traffic delays.

Traffic delays expected during Obama's visit to Charlotte

Good luck to all who will be trying to get home this evening.

Days like this I am glad to work from home!

When I lived in Minneapolis I got stopped for about 15 minutes only 1 mile from home as he was touring the lakes on his way to the airport. Come to think of it, I've actually been stopped in numerous cities due to high ranking officials making their way through. Usually they try to be good about it but yeah, I agree, a rush hour visit stings a little.

Is I-77N going to be closed at 4:00PM?

I take the bus from uptown into Huntersville at that time to go home and wasn't aware of the closures.
