Did the easy connect. For those that do it, it does take about a full 10 minutes to "activate" your modem. There's a five minute warning, but it was longer.

So after all that, I still have the exact same speed as before, around 36 mbps download, 7mbps upload. I am guessing I am not yet in the areas of the free "upgrades". I didn't switch to the router yet as that takes a phone call to TWC and I imagine they are jammed pack with callers right now. I will see how it works with just using their modem/router combo. Before it was a lot of dropped signals and very slow speeds using their wireless. Will see if it happens again.

Do they notify you when they've increased your speeds or does it just happen arbitrarily?

Just got off live chat, my area will be provided with the higher speeds on August 15th. And live chat was quick!

I also turned off the wireless part of the modem, it was dropping signal like before. I guess too many neighbors have the same thing! Working now with the router just fine.

ETA-I am in SE Charlotte

It happened arbitrary here. They turned on 300M/20M sometime in the last few days without any notification. However I sorta knew it was coming. I was up late one night when the Internet went down, modem was offline. About 10 minutes later it rebooted and came back on-line and the channel bonding had increased to 16 channels down. It had previously been updated to 4 up. Earlier in the year it was 4 & 1.

BTW, this would be in Huntersville. Someone on another forum said they were upgraded in a similar manner in Cornelius.

What type of wireless speeds are your receiving? Anywhere close to 300?

My speeds were cut on Saturday morning in Gastonia.

200 down, 20 up

Wireless is all going to depend on the receiver in your wireless device.

These new modems are equipped with 5ghz transmitters though, which is nice. Most your new smart phones have 5ghz receivers

Have you been able to verify wireless speeds up to 200/20?
