My mom and grandma are flying in for the weekend from the West Coast to check out my new hometown. I am trying to think of some nice restaurants in Dilworth, South Park or South Charlotte that we could check out while htye are here. I am really trying to find some places with a quieter laidback atmosphere. My grandma is not a fan of loud "trendy" places ... so any suggestions would be appreciated! I was thinking of trying Mickie & Mooch the other joint or 131 Main...

Grandma is a picky eater but she is happy as long as there is shrimp, pasta, ribs, veal or pork. Thanks in advance!!!

Can never go wrong with MM. I love 131 Main, but MM may be more of what you're looking for concerning chill.

I love Red Rocks @ Strawberry Hill. You can go to their website and take a tour around the rest. and preview the menu. It's locally owned and there are so many delicious items on the menu. The crab cakes are a favorite of mine. The owners strive to make sure your dining experience is first rate. The atmosphere is a little "cozier" than MM. I think you and your family would enjoy it.

I'll second this. I have frequented RR for 11 years now. Strawberry Hill is definitely lower key than LKN, but great menu, wines, and ambiance will surely give you a fantastic evening. Crab cakes are awesome too!

I love the food at Mickey and Mooch, but it can be really noisy. I'm somewhat deaf and if your G/mother is anything like me she might have a hard time hearing. Maybe you can call ahead and ask for a quiet area.

What area are you going to be in? Sounds like maybe the Lake Norman area as you mentioned 131 Main???

Try WiseGuys in Mooresville, quiet, dimly lit, laid back GOOD Italian food... off of exit 33, next to Vinnies Sardine...

Try Pewter Rose on South Blvd. great atmosphere and food. They must be doing something right as they have been in business for years.
