After many years of " thinking " about it...we are ALMOST the owners of a townhouse in South Charlotte! (homeowners association)

I feel sick to my stomach, lol.

We signed some paperwork yesterday. We currently live in NY & are flying down monday to see the place. Our realtor has been doing everything for us along with my sis who already lives in Charlotte. So, if all goes well and my husband & I like what we see just as much as we've liked everything so far through pictures and FaceTime , it looks good!

We have been looking and this one townhouse that caught our eye in Blakeny. Looks like a great area, great schools. (We've visited the area many times but sometimes you just don't know until to live there) No children yet....We would literally be right by the Blakeny Shopping center. You could see it from our front porch. Any comment on the location that I should be aware of? It looks & seems beautiful .

Is this the community next to the best buy shopping center and across from target in the Blakeney shopping center on Rea road? There's a fantastic trail there behind the pool for joggers or just to walk. It's shaded and very pretty. It's a nice area, full of shopping and restaurants galore. The schools are some of the best and the whole area is very clean/well maintained. People find it too clean and fake looking but I don't mind. Lol. Good luck on your move!

Good area, but did you research the homeowners association? Is it in good financial shape? Any assessments? Reserves? What services does it cover?

Alot of HOA fee's go towards services that property taxes normally fund.
