I'm looking at a home in this neighborhood (Adams Bluff) and I'm wondering what the general feel here is. I've read a lot here about Belmont but haven't seen this neighborhood mentioned in particular. I'm not concerned with schools, but do require a safe and peaceful neighborhood with good neighbors. The close proximity to Charlotte is what peaked my interest. I have looked at Gaston county crime and see there is a problem area North of this neighborhood. I'm wondering if this has created any problems for the surrounding area.

Also, does anybody know what will be built between Howe Street and Andrew Jackson Highway? It appears to have been recently cleared on Google Maps.

Any feedback is appreciated!

I'm not an expert in Belmont but I love what I have seen. We are building in Stowe Point (just a little south of Adam's Bluff) because we needed the space (3 kids, expected house guests, etc.) but I would have loved to be even closer to downtown like the area you are mentioning. I can not imagine a need to worry about crime but have not researched it specifically.

That area is perfectly safe. I drive thru there every day back and forth into Charlotte for work.

They just opened 2 very large athletic fields with a play park in the middle just south back behind the Antique Mall off Catawba street. The fields are off Brook St. They also just paved a new basketball court for the kids at the other park between Catawba and Church.
