Hey I'm planning a nice dinner with my wife for her birthday. I was hoping the ladies of the forum would be willing to recommend some fine establishments in and around the Ballantyne area or the Matthews area. I'm looking for restaurants that require nice dress, about 4 or 5 stars, and other places like music clubs or comedy clubs that are really high end. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

For restaurants, you could try Table in Ballantyne. I don't know about any high end music or comedy clubs around Ballantyne or Matthews.

The first one that popped in my head is Villa Antonio - they have a Ballantyne location but I heard their original location on South Blvd is very romantic

Villa Antonio Italian Ristorante - Italian Restaurant in Charlotte Italian Restaurants

I have only been to the one on South Blvd but great food and yes, very romatic. There was a dance floor and a piano player. Sometimes you can find coupons or discounts for Villa at Restaurant.com - Find deals on neighborhood restaurants. $25 Restaurant Certificates for only $10!

I'll add my $.02. I would suggest Global in Toringdon, or Sterlings in the Fountains.

Villa Antonio is always a crowd pleaser also

Default classy dinner spot

My favorite, so far, is Maggiano's at South Park. The ambiance is romantic and the food is wonderful. The piano sounds just right.

You could also try the franchise Rest. The melting Pot is very very romantic, specially for anniversaries or B-day's. The Melting Pot
