Another vote for Lupies! Also (and this is extremely embarassing), about 10 yrs ago my dh used to take me to a place called Knife and Spoon or Knife and Fork. They had awesome country ham but that place would have been doing well if they scored a 76! Food was great though!

Diamond Restaurant on Commonwealth Ave & Pecan Ave right by the Penguin.

Wednesday is Chicken & Dumplings and don't even think about leaving there without some banana pudding!

Does anyone ever cook anymore?

Actually, yes I've cooked a LOT more recently. Gas is simply too high to go out as much anymore. The high fuel costs have also caused the price of food to go up. I have cooked everyday this week, but last night was frozen pizza, so it doesn't really count. I actually have enjoyed cooking more. Even got a new mixer and it's not a NuMark

I have only tried fried pickles at the Penguin. They are good, but if you don't eat fried food too much then yes, make sure you have some pepto.
Now if you want healthy fresh go around the corner Thomas St and Central and try Zada Janes (smoke free). Best place in Midwood in my opinion. Keep in mind, either of these places get packed on the weekend.

YES!!! They are awesome! I had never had them until went to Sammy's Pub and Deli in Belmont. They are lightly breaded on the outside with some Dill Seasoning, and they serve it with a Creamy Dill Dip. Yummy!!
