We had Wellcare insurance in NY, and it was pretty good but, the plan that we had was not offered here in NC so, we we had to choose a different one, but its still under WELLCARE-- It is a plan offered under MEDICARE. I am having a hard time finding doctors that will accept it.
If anyone knows of a doctor accepting this plan please let me know. I am really looking for a rhuematologist, and a dentis that does dentures

My aunt was approached about switching to WellCare in place of the insurance she currently has with a major and well-respected insurance company. Even though the savings would have been significant, she didn't switch because the WellCare company has been having problems over the last year or so and she was fearful in this economy since companies are going under every day. She decided to stick with her "tried and true".

I have a friend that is a director at wellcare in florida. According to her, it is not in the state of NC yet (for participating providers). If and when it does ever come here, i have no doubt that she will move here too.
You want to contact your insurance and advise them that you are living in NC and need an in network provider. They may set up an arrangement with a local physican to accept you as an in network patient even though they are out of network. I know..it sounds confusing, but I used to work for BCBS and this does happen all the time.
Good luck!
