Happy 4th of July

I know the park is open, but does anyone know if the dog parks are open yet? I checked a couple of weeks ago and they were not open at that time.

Thanks!

I drove by today. Not open yet. Looks like it's about 60% done.

yes I am a little disappointed, looks like they focused on the baseball fields (I guess the revenue generating parts). No dog parks (still plan for 2?), no water park, long greenway type trail will now just be a 1 mile walking trail? Playground is OK but for little ones the chestnut park is better.

Yep, it's just okay, I guess. It's better than nothing, but they could have did a lot better. In early October, I drove by to see if the dog park was open yet. It was not. I asked a county employee working there, if he knew when it would be open. His guess was very late October. Said there had been lots of delays because of the rain storms we had. Somewhat believable, but it's a dog park for crying out loud. Fence off an area, some grass seed, some mulch and there you have it. There was NO work done in August or September.

Another update; I swear they are doing this on purpose, just to annoy people. It's STILL not open. Looks completely done, but not open. There is a sign on the front gate that's says the park is open Sat/Sun 8am-sunset. Seeing this sign on Thursday, I took my dogs there Saturday and it was locked. Another thing, I've never heard of a dog park only open on the weekends. Later on Saturday, I went to the pet store off 74, near the IT Walmart. The owner said she called IT several times about holding dog rescue fund raisers at the park. Each time she was told someone would get back to her, but it never happened. Come on Indian Trail!!

I did see a device on the first set of gates that looked like you may need a key card. However, on the second set or gates, there were locked with padlocks. Thank you though, I'll fill out the application and see where it goes.
