Harris Teeter #92, Caldwell Crossing, 12190 University City Boulevard, Harrisburg, North Carolina 28075-7406, opened for business today. ("Caldwell Crossing, Harrisburg, North Carolina.")

I have not heard anything new in regards to Publix at Harris Station. ("Harris Station, Harrisburg, North Carolina.")

The last Lowe's Foods in the immediate Charlotte area is also hanging on in Harrisburg.

I think Lowe's Foods is down to two stores spanning Cabarrus and Iredell counties:
  • Lowe's Foods #210, Schoolhouse Commons, 4445 Highway 49 South, Harrisburg, North Carolina 28075-7528
  • Lowe's Foods #241, Town Square, 125 Center Square Drive, Mooresville, North Carolina 28117-6996
Lowe's Foods #210 underwent a complete remodel and renovation. It added its original service department enhancements (Chicken Kitchen, Sausageworks, Pick and Prep, Beef Shoppe, Community Table, and The Beer Den). It has neither a pharmacy nor a fuel station.

I think Lowe's Foods #241 is undergoing a complete remodel and renovation.

People in Charlotte are probably getting their 1st view of a big Ingles. There was a huge tie up on 321 yesterday after a problem with bad check passing at the Dallas Ingles. The newscasts are showing the store in their tape packages.

There was a police chase and an officer involved shootout down HWY 321 after a bad check scam at the Dallas, Ingle's location. WSOC and WBTV had live chopper coverage, and several of the news stations had live shots from the front of the Ingle's store. One suspect was killed, and the other 2 arrested. A major traffic jam resulted as the hwy was shut down.

I can't help but wonder if people in Charlotte who aren't familiar with the Ingles supercenters think that they were looking at a small shopping center instead of just an Ingles.

There's an application in Accela for a 36k grocery at the corner of Reames Road and West W.T. Harris near North Lake Mall. Application was sent by Kimley-Horn. I'm guessing a Publix?

Aldi has really changed their inventory since they first started out; if you haven't been to one in a while, check it out. Tons of gluten free and organic options. I still can't get an entire order there due to limited inventory, but we save really big on groceries by buying what we can at Aldi. Veggies are always fresher than the big box stores too!

Publix's new stores are mostly 45,600 and 49,098 square feet. It does have prototypes at 28,000 and 39,000 square feet. Twenty-eight thousand square feet stores are common in urban areas. Thirty-nine thousand square feet stores are scarce.

I think it will be Lidl as well. Its stores may be larger than Aldi.
