It's pretty much standard for Memorial Day weekend. Target had the same promotion.

Publix has changed the Gastonia opening from late spring to summer on their website.
Wow Supermarket has a trailer sitting in the parking lot of the Dixie Village Shopping Center. Is anyone familiar with the existing stores? Is their stock inclusive of Caribbean as well as Mexican ingredients?

Usually they will have another percentage off if you use Cartwheel. I think it was last week they had an additional 25% off Pepsi 12 packs.

Do any of the chains sell barley in plastic bags, like dried beans? I was looking in Ingles yesterday. It was only available in boxes. I never saw it in boxes before, only bags.

Target has the bags.
There's definitely progress with the Wow Supermarket. It's visible from Franklin Blvd.
I'm assuming that the smaller Food Lion in Kings Mountain is undergoing the latest redecorating. The Windows are blacked out & there's a sign on the building that says Food Lion is open. You can't see the sign from the street.

I went to the mountains and saw a building site that promised a Publix soon. So they are moving fast! (just outside of Asheville)

South Market Village, Hendersonville, North Carolina
Publix #1546, Weaverville Plaza, Weaverville, North Carolina
Publix has announced to date 34 stores in North Carolina. Thirteen of those stores are open. All announced stores will be open by the end of 2017. More stores are coming.

I believe they already have a Publix location open in Asheville. Looks like they are trying to follow Harris Teeter in most NC markets. Similar target demographics. If I remember there is a nice HT already in Hendersonville.

Harris Teeter #379, Southside Square, 636 Spartanburg Highway, Hendersonville, North Carolina 28792-5761: Store 379 replaced a store. Southside Square was previously anchored by another supermarket, Bi-Lo.
Harris Teeter #348, Village at Chesnut Street, 136 Merrimon Avenue, Asheville, North Carolina 28801-1826: I think this is Asheville's first urban supermarket since Ingle's on Charlotte Street. Store 348 has neither a pharmacy nor a Starbucks.

Has there been any rumblings about Bi-Lo closing anymore stores in the Charlotte region? An employee at the Albemarle Road location said she heard that her location could be closing soon. Any merits to these rumors?
