There really is a Dallas, NC. Ingles has small older stores in Statesville & Bessemer City. They have big newer stores in Lincoln County, Dallas, & Kings Mountain that are accessible in the Charlotte area. The big stores have large beer & wine departments & cooler rooms. If no one can tell you a place in Charlotte try Ingles. I think that the Dallas store would be closest for you. Several posters have gone to the Dallas & Kings Mountain stores to pick up items over the years. The Kings Mountain store is 85K sq feet. Call first, though. If you end up going, fill out a form for the Advantage card. You'll probably find other items on sale & you'll need the card. The founder was headed for Charlotte before he died. If they get people from Charlotte they might start back towards Charlotte. Ingles regularly trounces Food Lion for prices & the big stores are nice.

Now that Publix has entered Charlotte, not sure if Ingle's will continue further into the metro area as may have been previously planned. However, there is speculation that Bi-Lo may close or sell its remaining NC stores, so things may change.

I don't know about Ingles. It seems odd that Bi-Lo hasn't pulled out yet. I guess they're taking advantage of the time lapse between Lowes Foods pulling out & Publix opening up. I think the real winner, though, is Aldi.

I wish that Harris Teeter would turn the BiLo on Elm Lane near Stonecrest into a 201 Central

Bi-Lo is down to 28 stores with 19 in-store pharmacies in North Carolina. It has closed many stores and exited many North Carolina markets over the years. Being obliterated by Ingle's in western North Carolina and struggling against Harris Teeter, Publix and Walmart in Charlotte are not good.
Ingle's has been stagnant for several years. It has several additional or replacement stores open and in the process of construction. It could open additional stores in the Charlotte area, but it will need to open a significant quantity of quality stores to compete against Harris Teeter and Publix.

Based on where Ingles is already they should replace & upgrade Statesville & Bessemer City & build new stores in Hickory, Gastonia, & Mooresville. Their trucks already deliver to Morganton, Statesville, Lincoln County, Kings Mountain, Bessemer City as well as other stores in Cleveland County.
Bi-Lo #5444, 1620 Ashley Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28208-3706
Bi-Lo #5444, located at 1620 Ashley Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28208-3706, the northwest corner of Ashley Road and Alleghany Street, is speculated for closure in early 2016.
Walmart Supercenter #3371, 3240 Wilkinson Boulevard, Charlotte, North Carolina 28208-5626, must be doing a lot of business.
Publix #1490, Willow Oaks Crossing, 5015 Weddington Road, Concord, North Carolina 28027-9097, is the first store in Cabarrus County. ("Willow Oaks Crossing, Concord, North Carolina.") I wonder if Publix is seeking additional store sites in Concord, Kannapolis, Cabarrus County and Rowan County.

They reportedly have plans for a new Publix in Harrisburg. Also in Harrisburg, Harris Teeter is opening a large new store with a fuel center.
