Lake Tillery
Does anyone know anything about this area? Land seems to be VERY reasonable.
Is it a difficult commute to Charlotte?

Very nice area, but I think your comute into Charlotte would be long. Depends on where in Charlotte you would be working.

Ditto what 7 oh 4 said. Nice area/lake, have plenty of friends that had second homes there over the years.

Uwharrie/Lake Tillery/Badin Lake is a wonderful place. The closest town is Albemarle and you are not too far from Asheboro. Like others said, it depends on where you need to be in Charlotte, but you could get to 485 via 24/27 (Albemarle Rd.) in about 30 minutes. Maybe 5 to 10 minutes more to Harrisburg/University area via Hwy 49.
Uwharrie is a gem because it's more of the road less traveled, so not many people know about it or frequent it much. Hardly any traffic on the lakes and if you like horses, 4 wheeling, ATVs, hunting, camping, fishing, hiking, and peace and quiet, then you'll be very happy there.
