Hey everyone!! I am a happy new resident of Charlotte (Mountain Island area) and I am looking for some daytime entertainment. I am not picky; I like coffee shops, farmers markets, whatever! I just want to keep busy, meet new people (don't know anyone here) and start enjoying this beautiful city! Can you suggest something to do during the day (meeting people would be awesome!)?

Brewery hop in South End (Unknown, Wooden Robot, Sycamore, Triple C, Sugar Creek, OMB; also The Brass Tap, Common Market, Good Bottle Co., Craft, etc)

Carowinds
Whitewater Center
Charlotte Rail Trail
Explore NoDa/Plaza Midwood/Dilworth/Elizabeth
Pretty soon College/NFL will start up you could find your team's hangout (if you are into football)

You can also use a website like Find your people - Meetup to find people with similar interests.

I would also encourage you to sign up for the Charlotte Agenda daily email. They have tons of news about things going on around town. Another website to try would be Charlotte NC Travel & Tourism.

Fairly close to or in the mountain island (MI) area...

-Coppa Coffee and Tea, which is the MI neighborhood coffee shop. Good hang out spot
-Mountain Island library, public library with lots of activities for adults. Book club once a month has a good group from what I hear
-White Water Center, walking/jogging trails, bar, restaurant, zip line, and of course white water rafting and kayaking
-Shuffle Town park has active dog park
-MI fitness is area gym with classes too

Once out and about you'll meet plenty of people!
