In the Huntersville/Cornelius area, it looks like there are quite a few grocery store choices. Hard to really get an idea right off the bat of the price comparison between all of them. Not very familiar with them except for the national chains. Anyone willing to try to do your best to rank them from cheapest to most expensive?

Whole Foods
Fresh Market
Harris Teeter (multiple locations... are the prices the same?)
Food Lion
Earth Fare
Publix
Target

And, with a little bit of a drive...

Aldi
Walmart Supercenter

Whole Paycheck, I mean Whole Foods

Earth Fare I'm not sure of as I've never shopped there.

That's just based on the items I typically buy so others experience may vary. I prefer Aldi for certain items that are substantially cheaper but then I'll shop at Target (and use my 5% off Red Card) for name brands that I prefer over Aldi brands. I do like Publix's meat selection as well as Harris Teeter's selection of meats. I detest Walmart and both Fresh Market and Whole Foods are too expensive typically on the items I shop for, or they don't have the brands altogether so I rarely shop there. Nice shopping experiences in those though.

I agree with Wolf Howl. I don't see a price difference between Harris Teeter and Publix. They are both expensive. I don't shop at Food Lion anymore but when we lived in NoVa we did because it was either that or Giant Food in the town we lived in so we went with Food Lion.

I mostly agree with limited minor changes...

- Aldi
- Walmart
- Food Lion
- Target
- Publix (tie)
- Harris Teeter (tie)
-Fresh Market
-Trader Joe's
-Whole Foods

I shop at Target, Publix & Harris Teeter exclusively. With trips to Fresh Market, Trader Joe's & Whole Foods for select items.
- Walmart is just plain evil and crowded. Not worth the savings for the headache.
- Food Lion stores are just dirty and run down these days. They've lost it.
- Aldi is okay in a pinch, but a bit too basic for me.

For certain items (frozen, cheese, nuts, olive oil) Trader Joe's is cheaper than regular grocery stores.

Yeah, I'd say that the majority of items in Trader Joe's are cheaper than their equivalent at Harris Teeter.

Once you shop Trader Joe's, you're changed forever. I promise you.

If I could have an Aldi, Trader Joe's and Publix nearby I'd be a pretty happy camper.
