We're considering building, and are mostly thinking Summerwood, Oakleaf at Waterbridge, or Red Oak Estates.
Haven't seen much recent info on these. I know the area has been slow to recover from the slump but seems to be on the upswing now. Anyone live in these communities and have feedback? Or have information on one of these areas? Thanks!

I live near Oakbridge at Waterleaf. I guess it's small but the lots seem to be selling pretty well. They're probably the nicest homes I've seen TrueHomes build, especially since they didn't rape all the trees and the lot sizes are pretty large. As far as I know there are no amenities - it's also a little further out, although really only a few minutes from Summerwood - I sometimes run from my house to Summerwood.

Speaking of Summerwood, it is large but looks pretty nice from what I've seen. They've got a decent walking trail and pretty sure a pool. Never really heard of Red Oak Estates.

I guess I'm not up to date on the new construction market, but what else is drawing you to Mint Hill? I like Mint Hill, but partly because it offers more value than what you can get elsewhere particularly in a resale. Is $350k+ really much less than what you can get elsewhere for similar homes (honest question, I don't know)? For example with that budget I think I might look at somewhere like Harrisburg, which has top rated schools across the board and lower property taxes.

Thanks for the reply GoPhils. We want to be in close proximity to Matthews. And we'd possibly like a new build on a lot that's at least .3 acres for 300-350k. Which led us to Mint Hill, because you can't get new on that size lot in our price range in Matthews, and out of the surrounding areas we like Mint Hill best, plus we like staying closer to the interstate than going south of Matthews which feels a bit land locked to us.
