There are a lot more neighborhoods that you can consider if you are worried about redistricting. I was suggesting neighborhoods where it'd be safe to walk, not ones that are so close that this would be less than a worry. IMO live as close to the middle/high schools you are interested in. Elementary schools can change districts, as we learned a year ago.

You can live next door to the school and not be "safe" from re-districting in Union County. Also, if the elementary school that you want to move next door to is already "capped" (enrollment is closed to new students for the year. See also: New Town Elementary), then you get to drive past that school on your way to where your child is enrolled.
