Can anyone list the neighborhoods that feature an elementary school inside/adjacent/directly across and walkable? (Looking for South Charlotte "area" as well as Fort Mill and Union Cty) Thanks!

A lot of Baxter Village can walk to Orchard Park. There is a neighborhood that can walk to PKES but the name escapes me. There are some neighorhoods in Tega Cay that can walk to Tega Cay elementary.

We drive to PKES and honestly don't find it a big deal. Just a quick drive and car drop off is pretty easy.

Brookhaven can walk to Antioch Elementary in Union County. There's a new neighborhood being built next to New Town Elementary too, so I'd assume those kids can walk.

Is it safe to assume that if you are in one if these neighborhoods (whether Meck or Union Cty) that you're "safe" from redistricting? I have a daughter starting K next year so being in a good elem school is very important while house hunting for relocation purposes. TIA!

Safe???

CMS and their friends are playing the "diversity" card. It will be an issue this year and next. The diversity crowd is organized, motivated and has the media on their side. The wind is blowing against the smarter, "privileged" clusters...

UC depends upon a bond referendum in Nov. 2016.
