Didn't see a topic on this, so here it is.

What do you guys think of the candidates? Any favorites? The Charlotte Observer is reporting that Roberts is leading in their poll among Democrats, and that Peacock is leading among the Republicans:

Roberts, Peacock lead Charlotte mayoral races | The Charlotte Observer

I'm guessing this will end up as a race between Clodfelter or Roberts vs. Peacock.

I hope Roberts is not elected.

She seems like a nice lady but she is all about raising taxes.

I think Jennifer Roberts is definitely the best choice, and I wish I still lived in Charlotte so I could vote for her.

Neither Stone nor Peacock has a snowball's chance.

The democratic primary is the election. About 2% of the city will vote (it was 25,000 in 2013) and about 1% will vote for the winner. The numbers explain a lot about how Patrick Cannon was elected.

Roberts is already running ads on TV. Thought I don't care for her as she generally did a poor job on the county council, I do give her a few marks for at least trying to take the District 9 seat for the US House.

I thought the condition for Clotfelder for taking the mayors office was that he wouldn't run for reelection?

I won't pretend to know anything about of the people otherwise running, though I remember Stone ran last time, right?
