Good day all can someone tell me about these areas for hotels... university 7410 N tryon zip 28213... the other is Matthews crown point independence blvd zip 28227 .. looking for the safest area we will be there for over a week... thanks in need of an extended stay (only)

University has a lot of places to eat. I would stay around UNCC area. Going into downtown taking N. Tryon st can get a little scary at times. It depends what you are planning to do while you are here.... Independence blvd can get crazy around rush hour times.

What do you plan on doing/where do you plan on going while you're here?

That would probably be the deciding factor as IMO both of those areas are fairly similar. To be honest they are both probably "on the border" of some not so great areas, but the areas they're in themselves aren't bad IMO, and there is a fair amount of shopping/restaurants near both, although most are chains.

The Tryon St. location is closer to the airport, and a bit more centrally located as far as going in various other directions via the interstate. Independence Blvd and the southern portion of 485 can have some pretty heavy traffic.
