That is so sad. That poodle looks exactly like the one I had when I was little!

I had a silver teacup like her, too! Breaks my heart. I want to go adopt another doggie. H says - good grief - we can hardly keep up w/ our precious furkid and maybe it would upset her. But what is gonna happen to all these dogs and cats? They have had homes and now must be so confused. . .

Yes, I think my pom would disown me forever! He doesn't even like the kids unless they have treats.
I can't imagine leaving my pets behind. I could never...I would at least find them a home before I would leave them to starve to death! Uh, that breaks my heart and makes me sick to my stomach!

Of course, you are so right . . . I just wonder if my prissy and territorial Miss Scarlett would want another furchild to compete with??? Hmmmmm.

If your in that situation, why not find an apartment that WILL accept pets? I've noticed a lot of apartments in NC, DO accept pets.
If a person abandons a pet, they should'nt have gotten one in the first place.

That would seem logical, but from what I can ascertain, a lot of these people are having to move in w/ family or travel a long distance in their car to get back somewhere else to family, and cannot accommodate a pet under those circumstances. Plus, if people are out of work, they probably have few resources to pay for an apartment and have to go wherever the rent is affordable, and they may not even have the $$$ for a pet deposit. There are a lot of desperate situations out there. I adopted my last cat (no longer w/ me) from the animal shelter after he was abandoned by a couple who had to move into an apartment that would not allow pets. It happens.
So very very sad. I hope everyone who reads this will consider adopting a pet.
