I will be moving down here with my family in about a month. I will be home with my kids much of the day while my husband works. I want to rent a townhome somewhere in the area. From what I am reading, Charlotte and Rock Hill will be a hellish pit of crime and sin. I am truly starting to re-think this move. I know there has to be something good about the area. I want to be able to take my babies out without being shot, mugged, assaulted, or mowed down by a crazy driver. Please tell me I can find some places in area where I can be safe. Is it as bad as the Washington, DC area? I am moving from Cincinnati, but my family is from DC? It will give me a frame of reference.
You must like living in cities dub queen cities. You will notice a vast difference between downtown Cincinnati and Uptown Charlotte. For a visitor of your queen city I did not feel comfortable walking around past the WKRP statue, but the highway system around the city was fun lol. It a matter of perception and comfort level. It is not like DC and you should visit the area before making judgement on the area or making such a move.
However I am impress with what Cinncinati is doing with their school system
