No. You can't begin to see Charlotte in any realistic fashion via public transportation. There is only one light rail line, and a very short "starter" street car line. The only other option is the bus, and would be frustrating and difficult to see the city via bus. Public transportation in Charlotte is nothing like you have in Boston.

Also, Uptown is very compact and can easily seen by walking, no need for public transportation. Although the streetcar is cool and is no doubt fun to ride.

Ok, gotcha. I will just book a hotel in Uptown that has airport shuttle and then rent a car when I get there. I am hoping to at least look at a few apartments while I'm there so I'm definitely going to need a rental car for at least a day.
