You would think that for a city as big as Charlotte that there would be schools or ways in which a person can get a trade or a certification in 6 months or less as opposed to having to join some two-year college and wait an entire year or more just to get it done since colleges tend to break down their classes into semesters.

But in case someone knows a bit more about Charlotte than what the internet is allowing to be seen through search engines, are there ANY trade/skill schools in Charlotte geared toward a particular trade that can allow someone to basically get in and get out?

Just curious, what kind of trade can be learned and a certification received in less than 6 months? Call the schools, I believe that there is a training thing for teacher's aides. But an associates degree may be required. It was the last place I lived in Florida.

CPCC has a great offering. In 2 semesters you can start computer integrated machining, welding, repairing HVAC systems, working in early childhood education or developmental disabilities.

2 semesters is longer than 6 months, but it's not a huge turnaround to start from square 1.

I think he means vocational schools. In some states you can take classes like LPN, HVAC, etc... I've never seen in a vocational school here in NC

They are all rolled up into the community colleges here. Motorsports, welding, hvac, cnc, CNA, LPN, rad tech, and the rest are under the community colleges here. They are available though

We call that "community college" where one can enroll in hopes of obtaining a diploma or degree OR where one can sign-up for continuing education courses that might lead to certification(s).

Many trade schools are one & two year programs. You should look at CPCC & Gaston College.
