Two North Carolina cities are among the Top 10 worst metropolitan areas for people with asthma.
That's according to a report from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.
The Washington-based organization ranked Charlotte as the country's seventh-worst city for asthma sufferers and Greensboro as the tenth.
Knoxville, Tennessee, was ranked first.
The foundation reviews factors such as the number of people diagnosed with asthma, the number of asthma medications used per patient and local air quality.
Other cities it called "asthma capitals" were Tulsa, Oklahoma; Milwaukee; Atlanta; Memphis, Tennessee; Allentown, Pennsylvania.; Greenville, South Carolina; and St. Louis.

If you are referring to the number 9 from a numerology standpoint, it is quite a nice fit for Charlotte and certainly not anything negative - denotes philanthropic spirit, good place for a life path . . . humanitarian ideals . . . and social consciousness.
So don't get it if you are saying something negative about # 9. ????

So, you guys are # 9 huh?? I thought we (Phoenix) were. Maybe we moved up to 7 or 8, or maybe were just so very miserable, they couldn't grade us at all!!!!!!! We are STILL coming to Charlotte in April to look for a new house.....

I certainly hope this doesn't affect home appreciation in Charlotte. And I know home sales will do better here than in other states, lol. Especially with a high unemployment and crime rate, lol ! The news link I accessed here a few months ago about the great Queen city was portrayed much better, lol !

Well, looks like I'm going to die of cancer or something...I grew up in San Diego and Bakersfield and I'm headed for Charlotte soon! Do you get "spare the air days" where you are warned to stay inside because of extremely bad air?

Well now, let's not panic needlessly. I mean media interest albeit negative does gender interest. High crime and no dough are no doubt dispiriting but we shouldn't jump ship just yet. Every city has to take its turn for notoriety. Maybe we need a few UFO sightings to gain back respect.
