Yes, but I'd say #3 is their #1 priority. While roofs were failing and students were going without texts, classroom supplies, and teachers' assistants; everyone got a laptop. The educations of a generation of our children are being sacrificed for the sake of accolades for UCPS admin.

Maher is an attention ***** and his group is a bunch of conspiracy theorists. A real detective would take the facts to the appropriate authorities, whether that be the BOE or law enforcement (as he suggests a possible crime), before releasing to the public. Maher shared the information on a Friday where there was no chance for the BOE to respond. Just the right time to stir his usual pot.

The BOE did it right how they handled Marce Savage. Nobody knew about the investigation until it was turned over to the sheriff. I still haven't seen Maher's group chastise Marce for her crime.

Even if there is a story here, it has to be proven Ellis and team broke a written policy or employment contract to be considered an ethics violation. Maher got his pat on the back for a job well done by his crazy conspiracy group, and they get one more negative story about Union Co. in the news. Way to go.

Kudos to Mr. Maher and his bunch of conspiracy theorists. I applaud them for being the watchdogs of public money and the best interests of our county's children. I don't care what their motivations may be.

How do you know they haven't contacted the authorities? How do you know this wasn't delivered to the sheriff and state officials?

The BOE crucified one of their own before handing the information over to authorities. That first came to light in October, conveniently the last meeting before the election.

Sounds like you take more issue with the whistleblowers rather than the superintendent and her deputy superintendent caught with their hands in the cookie jar. While I admit fully that Mr. Maher has a flair for drama, he's a straight shooter. I haven't seen one thing revealed that doesn't confirm.

Why are you trying to deflect? Do you think this business relationship is appropriate? If yes, how so?

I agree bubba. My children have all attended Sun Valley schools. We are the forgotten ones. Still have more maintainence issues that have been sitting for years. The high school is bursting at the seams. It's a crime that our school has been left in such poor condition. But Dr. Mary Ellis can always find the money for more computers.

I wish they would spend more time worrying about not being sued. If proper bus maintainence had been a priority, a little girl would have been spared being sprayed with boiling hot chemicals and scarred for life.

I don't care how she looks on paper, she's a train wreck and has been driving our schools down. Look at the issues we have had since she took over.

I say there's not enough information to understand true intent or to say whether or not the relationship is appropriate. It's not unusual for educators to have second jobs, or for educators to be private consultants. Could this business venture have actually saved money for the county by cutting out the middle man? Who knows. But until we know all the facts, I'm not going to pass judgment against Ellis or the administration. And based on past behavior of Maher and his groupies, I'm more likely to give Ellis and staff the benefit of the doubt.

Is this sarcasm? I can't imagine you are serious. It's hard to interpret tone in messages. You sure have a grudge against these people. You are trying awfully hard to blame them and not deal with the facts that we do know.
