Hello everyone! We are a family of 6 (4 kids....2 adults) and my husband is in the manufacturing industry. We have looked on indeed, monster, and other employment websites but we are looking for more personal experience with regards to the job hunt. Is NC (specifically the Charlotte area) a decent place to find manufacturing jobs or would it be a dead end? Thanks for any advice, tips and help given

Can you be more specific? Is it heavy industry or light industry? Is it skilled, like soldering or welding? is it operation of computerized equipment?
Yes! Sure! It's heavy industry....he works on big machines and furnaces that are computerized. It's skilled in the sense that he has to have experience and be educated on the different machines and furnaces. He does heat treating, molding, coiling and part making for airplanes, cars etc. He eventually wants to go to school for Manufacturing Engineer but his work schedule doesn't really allow the time necessary for studying. If everything checks out for us in NC, he will take a CNC course because that offers a substantial pay increase (at least here in Ohio it does, not sure for the south).
If he has experience with airplane part manufacturing, IMO Greensboro would be a great option with Honda Jets.
It is relatively new and saw several postings on Indeed.com. Search Honda Jet jobs in a search engine.

Try South Carolina. The BMW plant in Greer and Boeing in Charleston.

OK, there are Freighliner plants in Gastonia & Mt Holly. There's a place in Shelby that makes car engines. There's a paper plant (not a paper mill) in Shelby too. There's more manufacturing in SC. There's a BMW plant in Greer with related businesses from Spartanburg to Greenville. There's a Boeing plant near Charleston.
There are numerious plants surrounding Charlotte that make everything from plastics and polymer items , parts for automobiles, air conditioners & refrigeration equipment, cables, and many more.
