I have been living in the university area of Charlotte for 11 years. I loved living here for a while, but I feel like it's not the best place for me at the moment. I have been looking at threads to find the safest areas in Charlotte, but places like Dilworth and Elizabeth are out of my price range. Honestly , they are also not diverse enough for my personal taste. I would like to find a one bedroom apartment for less than $1,100. I have no children and don't have to worry about schools. I just need a area that is safe , comfortable , and nice looking for my husband and I. We are both in our mid 20's. I would really appreciate any recommendations. Thanks.

Where do you work? Assuming not too far from University, some of the closer typical suggestions would probably be Concord, Huntersville, Mint Hill and Matthews.
