My husband and I are seriously considering doing a new construction in Fullerton Place on the edge of Huntersville. (Lennar is the builder.) We're planning on moving this July so we're there before school starts. Is there anything I should know about the neighborhood? Any downsides to that neighborhood in particular? The builder? I haven't been able to find any lawsuits or anything in NC. The only complaints I've found are people not being able to pick they're own stuff. I'm fine with that. Fewer decisions for me to make.

Thanks!

I live not far from the development. I haven't heard anything bad about it. The only drawback will be getting out of the neighborhood in the morning/afternoons if you need to turn left. They are also adding onto Skybrook and the entrance will be almost across from Fullerton.

Do you need schools? Do you know about the new ES being built splitting the current Odell ES into two schools?

Lennar is a decent production builder. Their spin is that all the options are already included in the home. I have heard no complaints about Lennar. There will be more neighborhoods starting in that area so you will have more communities to choose from as well. Best of Luck!!

I would check out Waterford on Shiloh Church Road. They are extending the neighborhood and it's much nicer than Fullerton Place (and Lennar is still the builder).

Lennar is huge with divisions across the U.S. Their reputation is good. While they are based in Miami, they treat Houston as almost a co-headquarters. I have not built one of their homes, so no first hand experience on their local quality. However, with their scale in Houston and senior management around their reputation there is especially important to them. I work for newhomesource and know a lot of their folks. They impress me as both competent and caring. Good luck with your build.
