And more conservative republicon hypocrisy regarding Cuba:

"Several months later, in September 2015, a North Carolina delegation visited the island nation – including officials from the state Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, whose elected commissioner is Republican Steve Troxler. Outreach to Cuba has bipartisan support. The N.C. Farm Bureau – a group whose campaign contributions heavily favor Republicans – organized the September trip to Cuba."

Yep, most definitely hypocrisy at its worst!
"But Malaysia’s Penal Code 187 — which punishes homosexual conduct with whippings and up to 20 years in prison — did not stop PayPal from opening in 2011 a global operations center there that it estimated would employ 500 workers by 2013."

Again, anyone who applauds the actions of PayPal are just simply ignorant to the fact that PayPal is using this as a means of publicity for their company. They are in no way trying to better the people of Cuba or trying to weaken rogue nations' governments. They are just trying to make a buck off of anyone and everyone they possibly can.

I would not be surprised if, in the coming weeks, we find that PayPal expands its operations in some place that is even cheaper for them to operate. At the same time, I still wouldn't be surprised if PayPal "retracts" everything and continues to expand in Charlotte. They are going to look out for themselves first. Everything you hear about PayPal is to benefit PayPal first and foremost. Every move is calculated. They are not doing anything for the goodness and charity of others.

Fine. Take PayPal out of the discussion. There are plenty of other businesses and organizations from the entertainment industry to pharmaceutical companies reconsidering doing operations in the state.

And again, while this law is explicitly discriminatory, it also affects every North Carolinian's rights to sue in state courts over employment discrimination based on age, race, religion, etc.

What is false about it? PayPal pulls out of North Carolina because of a bill that could potentially be used as a tool for discrimination, yet they have operations in a country where homosexuality is physically punished and treated as a crime. If it makes you feel better to turn a blind eye, so be it. But as most of us level headed people know, there is always more to the story than what the media is feeding you.

Same reason they felt the need to pass Amendment One, which content was already addressed in a state statute: quickest way to rope in the "Evangelicals" in an election year is to grandstand over a divisive social issue, even if you know it's going to be overturned (and then you can blame the "big bad Court system").
