I am thinking of moving my family to the Brookshire Area. How safe is it. is it a good area for small kids? I really like the Belmont area but am having a hard time finding a rental home there. I need to be near the airport due to my job, so if there are any other areas I should be looking at please let me know.

I would stay over by the golf course not so much inside the Brookshire loop. You could also do over towards the Northlake Mall and sneak in that side of Huntersville. Paw Creek area is not that bad either. The schools could bea little "iffy"

In my opinion you don't want to live on/off Brookshire until you get on the outer side of I85 - then as you head up hwy 16 there are many nice communities going toward Mt. Holly. I would even say to look in Mt. Holly itself. Basically, the further away from I85 you go the better.
