It is almost March, the tulips will be next , bradford pears, Dogwoods by easter, followed by Iris. Dont let them fool you into it is Spring you will need some type of cover for below freezing nights and do not use plastic but some type of cloth or burlap.
I am not too familiar with Dogwood trees (whether they are one of the first to bloom and grow leaves or not.) So, when do the rest of the trees start to bud and get leaves?? I hate looking at brown sticks. At least in the north they were often temporarily WHITE sticks, LOL.
I never have notice the oaks, maple, etc, but the bradford pears are in full bloom flower wise by mid March The white dogwood's are in few weeks before easter, and the red one always around Easter as sign of Jesus shed his blood for us.
RedBuds were new to me too when I first moved here. I too love them - they are so predictable.
Anyone else have any plants blooming? Anymore daffodils? They always surprise me. Some part of me is still in Minnesota (which I left over 40 years ago!) and sees February as a snow covered month.
Daffodils are blooming outside my front door. Every February as I watch my daffodils begin to bloom, I remember why I will never leave Carolina.
I PLANTED SOME IN NOV MY FIRST TOIME I HOPE THEY COME OUT RIGHT I DON'T SEE ANY HEADS POPPING UP
