McCrory was a good mayor, he's one of the driving forces behind the infrastructure improvements were seeing today, including the light rail. Recently he's been attacked by more hardcore Republicans for being weak and too moderate, he's tried to be Charlotte's mayor from afar and I think, since, re-election season is coming up, he wants to get back on his constituents' good sides so he's kind of been their puppet.

I'm really disappointed in him. I thought he's be a great governor.

I remember talking to him a couple times when he was mayor... while he was walking his dog and one time at the beach. Seemed like a really down to earth, genuine guy.

Then he moved to Raleigh and things changed.

The city brought this on themselves. Their legislation was a bridge to far with the bathroom thing. I wonder what the real agenda was, to protect the LGBT community or for the new Mayor and council to engage in grandstanding? It backfired big time and created the opening the legislature was looking for to set statewide policy. Sometimes it's better to get 80% of what you want then risk it all and get nothing. Not only that, but this just cements the long standing hatred the politicians in Raleigh have for Charlotte. Mark my words, the Capitol is not done in retribution to the city over this.

Yes, way over the line with the bathroom thingy, McCrory had no choice here.

NY, Seattle and San Fran have banned state travel to NC. A large number of private companies have spoken out against the discriminatory law. What more do some of you guys need to realize that this law is discriminatory and just not in keeping with the times?

As for those worried about their children, predators and LGBT are two separate topics. Instead of stalling progressive movement for the LGBT community due to fears of your child's safety, work with your elected officials to better safety laws.

Where was all this discrimination before about what bathroom to use, against Transgenders, that an ordinance had to be passed?

Just in: NC attorney general refuses to defend state from HB2 legal challenge. LOL Bigots thought they got their way. Come November and the state rightfully turns blue again, all this will be reversed and business as usual. Charlotte will become a beckon of freedom and inclusiveness again.
