I think the professional sport are hypocrites. Rest assured that if Lebron James (or any other male for that matter) decided that his gender identity was female, he would never be allowed to play in the WNBA.
From a business prospective, it may be ok for Apple, American Airlines, Bank of America, Duke, ESPN, Facebook, Google, IBM, Lowe's, and PayPal to navigate hundreds of different local employment regulations. They have HR departments with hundreds of people doing this for a living. For the 50 person firm (1 person HR department) trying to comply with a different set of rules in every municipality is impossible. Just for efficiency sake, HR regulations should be consistent statewide. Now that the law is passed to ensure statewide consistency, lobby (or vote them out) your state representative to change the state law.
Charlotta should keep the game. The Atlanta reps are wrong on so many levels. Atlanta needs to bid just like everyone else man. I live in Atlanta and really want the Allstar game, but NOT this way.
The National Basketball Association is committed to having its 2017 All-Star game in Charlotte. If the Atlanta Hawks want to host a game, they should bid for the next available year.

The non-discrimination law would have been pretty easy to accommodate for an company of any size. It wasn't that hard to understand. The law didn't call for new bathrooms to be built. Stupid law in my opinion though since it was a non-issue. I can't stand the backlash to the law claiming safety concerns or ignorant comments about gender or identity, but I agree with those that think it was unnecessary in the first place and an example of unnecessary government intervention. The fear about daughters being victimized in the bathroom is pure fear mongering. Not an issue.
In your ridiculous example of Lebron James, there is actually a WNBA has a policy that DOES allow for transgender athletes. Why do you think otherwise? The WNBA would make a ton more money than it does now (I think it's 100% dependent on NBA support for existence).
Who would be opposed? The NBA? Thinking about it (and that's quite a compliment because it's a ridiculous hypothetical) I think transgender Lebron would probably choose to play in the NBA as a woman. He's a competitor and wouldn't want an unfair edge.

I am in total agreement. Atlanta needs to make their own bid and not use political agendas to steal what Charlotte has.

I agree; this is petty of Atlanta, especially since they just barely escaped a similar fate.

Oh it's not over,,,,,key legislators are calling for a potential override of the Governor's veto. If they muster the necessary 2/3 vote is another story though.

Virginia next also. If Virginia throws this out also, it will make nc look like a hillbilly state.
How many other states have a similar law that the governor just vetoed? Are we the only state in the union that doesn't have an accommodation in the books? Certainly seems like it based on the media, celebrities and other entities voicing their displeasure.

Just my opinion, but I think that that the Charlotte law made a weird situation weirder. I think that the state solution made that situation, potentially dangerous & then threw in everything but the kitchen sink to make the bill a catchall for their wrath. The end result is a bill that makes the state look really bad. There is no reason to have anything about minimum wage in a bathroom pushback bill. Telling people to take their discrimination complaints to the feds doesn't make them look good, either. It was a very bad waste of somebody's money.
