I would also recommend the 61X or 62X CATS lines. They drop you off at the CTC or Gateway on Trade, and by the time you schlep it out to the light rail station, ride the train in and walk, you've basically spent the same amount of time, without all the hassle of having to sit in traffic.

There are several park and ride locations for both lines, and the express buses are nice.

I live in Ballantyne and drove to Uptown for about three months. Leaving the house at 7:05 am I would get to 5th and Davidson at 7:50 am Monday thru Friday.
