This thread is barely going and it's already has some questionable statements bandied about as fact and contradictions.

It seems to go unnoticed that for years now the Secretary of State is a black woman, well regarded on both sides of the aisle.

In my circle, she is not well regarded.

Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.

Interesting percentages given there. What study uncovered this fact of life? Or is this some number that you pulled out of thin air?

Within "white circles" we NEVER talk about how blacks are doing this or that.. but it sure seems the blacks are still talking about how the whites are keeping them down..

I think its CLEAR that blacks even have more opportunity than whites in the market place right now. Try to get into a college as a white male sometime and see what happens.

Are you serious? In less than three sentences later you contradict yourself. You say you NEVER talk about how blacks are doing and then a few sentences later you state it's CLEAR blacks have a better opportunity in the market place and complain about white males trying to get in college.

I respect what you say, but it appears each of us will just continue what we know how to do:

Me - applaud people who make a difference, rise to the top, be the best they can be (whether or not I agree with them politically).

You- sit around and point out how there are are only kinds of folk: white and black.

Humbly, I am not the racist. I wish everyone to accomplish their dream, whatever they may be: black, white, green, red - does not matter.


The percentage thing I read years ago and cannot take credit for it.

As a black woman and a non native, i've followed the case quite closely.

While I understand that you are upset - you have to realize that this issue is singular. And the race card is being used because it is the only recourse that this man and his defenders have.

The real issue about trickery and an agenda that is supported by a few - not the masses.

I think if you'd engage in a conversation about how most AfAms in CLT feel about this, you'd find a cross section of emotions - not just "the white man is out to get us"
