Sick of racism in Charlotte
I just moved here from Colorado and I am SICK of the racism in 3 short months. I am a white man and in Denver Colorado everyone is equal and no one points fingers due to race only due to their actions. Hell Colorado even treats ILLEGALS as equal (which I have HUGE issue with).
I watched the Sheriff issue on TV this morning and saw black folkes stand up and talk about "My people".. And how it was 4 whites against 2 blacks. When will the blacks STOP this sort of crap? The only racism I hear is from blacks? Isn't there a black community leader out there who can stand up and tell the black community to quit leaning on the age old black against white issue? Have the blacks not noticed that white people are fully behind a black candidate for the president of the united states??????????
Within "white circles" we NEVER talk about how blacks are doing this or that.. but it sure seems the blacks are still talking about how the whites are keeping them down..
Grow up people. We are all equal which means we all have equal responsibility AND we all of equal ability to prosper. I think its CLEAR that blacks even have more opportunity than whites in the market place right now. Try to get into a college as a white male sometime and see what happens.
Also.. I was in a restaurant the other day and it was clear the blacks stay with blacks and whites with whited. We need to start to mingle people.
God this city is disgusting.

I will explain this to you, if you really want me to. But first, may I ask - have you always lived in Colorado?

I concur the reverse racism is rampant and utterly silly.
It seems to go unnoticed that for years now the Secretary of State is a black woman, well regarded on both sides of the aisle.
Also America could be very close to electing its first black (well 1/2 black) President.
Personally I could care less if the Sheriff is Black, Hispanic, White, or anything else.
A candidate that was well-qualified, highly recommended, and fairly elected (whether or not I voted for them) would be fine with me. That is due process. There are way too many issues at hand without worrying about everyone's race. The best qualified person, is always the best possible solution, regardless of gender, race, ect.
The idea of 'the man' keeping anyone down is only perpetuated by the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.
Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.
Most people are only as successful as their attitude (which they control) allows.

Incorrect.. none of this goes on in Denver. Denver has a HUGE hispanic population and none of this happens. I had a had a family next door that could barely speak english. He came over and he helped me put in a counter top. I helped him when he needed help. We both kept our properties nice. Black people are by FAR treated exactly the same as anyone in Denver. Its true there are very few blacks there but the ones that are are quite at home with the Denver mentality that all are equal. I lived there for 7 yrs so I know the area well.
That mentality was passed on to me.. recently on my "white street" a black family bought a house right across the street from me. The very first thought I had was after seeing them was cool! They were clearly responsible people and thats all I care about.
As far as explaining this to me.. I dont want an explanation.. I just wish it would end and I don't think I can live here under these circumstances. It's the same damn thing in New Orleans too so its not just charlotte.
This reverse racism as someone called it is just ignorant people spewing ignorant information. "My people".. WHAT A JOKE...

This is too funny. So you're position is I dont want people to speak their minds. I gotta laugh. Do you realize that whites can't say a Moderator cut: READ THE TOS ABOUT INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE thing about a black person without being a "racist"? See, what has happened here is blacks can now make any comment they want and its just fine.. but while back in the days of real racism we whites were the most ridiculous idiotic people on the planet making all sorts of stupid ass comments and now we can't say a damn thing anymore even if the person is deserving of it.. but somehow the blacks seem to think they need to make up for lost time or something.. just let it end.
When you see one of "your people" on TV making stupid ignorant comments blacks should condemn them and stop this ****. Whites sure can't say a damn thing.. stand up and have some damn pride people.
And to correct you again.. blacks in colorado aren't docile. they have not reason to be docile.. they are just like anyone else.. they ***** about the gov't and things they want changed just like anyone.. so your comment is just stupid and ignorant.

I think this says it all. You don't want to know more about it, you just want it to magically go away.

I'd say its damn close to no racism yes. I did not see ANY evidence of it. NONE. People are just people. I had 3 gay families on my street.. everyone just treated them like anyone else (I realize this is not racism in regards to gays.. but its the same thing)..
This is my experience.. I lived near downtown. I dont know what else to say accept I never saw any or HEARD any on the news like here..
Just watch the Mecklenburg video.. its embarrassing..
