That's because anything in the top 2,000 is still in the top 10% of high schools in the US...so Great Schools will rate them all high...as they should.

In a high population area such as Charlotte I should hope there'd be at least a couple of standout schools. You'd have to look at the entire school system to fairly say it was well run or not. You'll have outliers on both sides.

Good news is successful kids can come from any high school in the country.
