While we're on Red Rocks, I'll suggest the Birkdale Village location for a great patio in the spring/summer/fall. They also enclose it in the winter. Birkdale is also great for people watching and you can tie your dogs up to the patio fencing as you dine beside them on the other side.

I was gonna say. You are not a true Charlottean until you eat at Price's Chicken Coop & Green's Lunch Counter.

The upper level of Ri-Ra is a great place to sit outside and enjoy a Guiness and a burger and people watch Uptown.

Yes it is! Especially since that patio is where my wife and I met!

I love dining at the North Harbor Club. I have wonderful memories of the whole family being there together on a pleasant summer day. It has to be a little warmer than now though because the wind from the lake can make it a little chilly.

Other places are : Toscana at SouthPark, las Ramblas on Park Road, Dean and DeLucca at Philip's Place, Coco Osteria uptown on Tryon, McCormick & Schmicks uptown on Tryon, Lava at University Place, Ciro's at University Place (food is not great but terrace is pleasant), Whitewater Center Deck overlooking the whitewater, Nolen's Kitchen on Selwyn, Dolce on Park Road (good Italian too)

My husband is an obsessive-restaurant-terrace-eater so I know I'll think of more before the day is over.
