What is the Charlotte dating scene like for a late-20's single Asian female who's looking for a relationship/settle down? Compared to Atlanta?

Would appreciate any insights/opinions! Thanks so much!

Asking message board regulars about a dating scene is a bit like driving to the doctor for a car inspection.

Good luck finding that guy! There are lots of eligible bachelors in Atlanta and in Charlotte but the responses on this message board will have no influence on your luck in finding them. The best thing to do is get out there and start fishing.

Well i agree it depends on the individuals as well but diversity awareness plays a big role for someone from a minority. People naturally avoid what they're not familiar with. When I was in a mainly Caucasian area in NH, i got the look from people like "what is this Asian girl doing here." I felt uncomfortable and alienated but I wouldn't say they meant to discriminate or be racist, it's just that they never see many Asians (if any) around. I know Atlanta is a big diverse city with large Asian communities but not so sure how people in Charlotte view minority groups as I heard they're more conservative... I will visit the city early June but I don't think my short 2-day visit would give me enough insights about how people behave in the long run, so I guess I would just ask for some input.

Atlanta Male-Female Ratio Skewered By High Homosexual Male Population
Compared to Charlotte, you might find Atlanta to have a unfavorable ratio of males to females once you subtract the homosexual male population. If you are looking to settle down in the sense of a normal male-female traditional type of relationship, you might find the Atlanta odds working against you due to the high number of male homosexuals in Atlanta proper. I was surprised the number of places that were 'under cover' lesbian or gay hang outs. Similarly, guys seeking normal and traditional relationships with straight females in Atlanta proper might find Atlanta perplexing. If you are looking to settle down to a lesbian relationship or some LGBT swinging, Atlanta might just be your place. Despite the media diatribe, I have observed time after time Atlanta gays readily ostracize and mistreat straights. One major coffee shops chain made a point to harass and fire any males that wouldn't 'convert'.

Atlanta's Asian Communities.
Atlanta has quite large S.E. Asia-centric communities. But I found that most Asian (Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, etc.) communities kept to themselves to a great extent. If that is what you are looking for, Atlanta has that. But if are looking for Mr. Right without too much concern what physical type, Charlotte might be best. At least with Charlotte, you are that much closer to D.C., New York, Philadelphia, Raleigh and Boston (also has high female to male ratio) should you need to look for Mr. Right in nearby areas.
