What are some fun things to do in Charlotte these days? All out of ideas. Family coming in for a long weekend and due to their crazy kids, we are trying to keep them out of the house and busy.

Take light rail uptown, stroll up and down Tryon, grab a bite. Have a picnic Freedom Park by the train engine? Is Metrolina Expo happening this weekend? Go to the Hilton at the University, walk around lake/pond, grab a bite at Boardwalk Billy's.

I just realized all of my suggestions involve food. Even Metrolina Expo. I never leave without a pretzel.

Take them to a sporting event. Maybe a checkers game. It is very family friendly there.

Their ages range from 2 1/2 to 8 years. Boys and girls. What is metrolina expo?
Been to Discovery Place, ImaginOn, and most of the other places that were mentioned. I don't know something different or new?
Thinking about the zoo on Sunday (no rain?). Lazy 5 is closed. Can only go to Monkey Joes/Sports Connection so many times.
What sporting events are taking place this weekend?

Take them to the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer. It's free.
