I am just curious. Our tax value of our home is considerably lower than the current value of our house.

Will we be looking at a tax increase soon?

It's a wierd thing how they do it. I don't know all the details, but they have some sort of guide based on SQ footage. The inside could be made of gold, they don't care. The insde could be gutted, they don't care. You could have Pandas.. oh wait..

Do the assessors come and knock on the door here? I know in NJ they did. You don't have to let them in ever. If you put a lot of money into the interior of your house, I wouldn't let them in at all. They may ask a few questions, but you can always fudge the answers.

Yes they knock and let you know who they are so you do not freak out when some weirdo is walking around your yard.
