Is this post supposed to be helpful? I mean really? Crime is an issue that has been well discussed on this board. I think we can all agree Charlotte has its fair share - even less than a lot of other cities its size, though if you are a victim of a crime here I am sure that is all relative. In any case, you are obviously not happy here, so I do hope you are making plans to find the right place to call home. No one here has ever said Charlotte is perfect, or that Charlotte is for everyone - it just happens to be a great place for most of us. Good luck finding the place that will be great for you

That is all correct BUT don't forget to bring your own fried clams with you because they don't have any down here.

I'm sorry. Were you referring to Charlotte, North Carolina? Not sure which of these statements made me cringe more. Nearly everyone has a college education? There is no racial tension? Did you come down here before or after Al Sharpton visited?

Thumbs down Find something better to do with your time

This from the same person that posted this inflammatory post (which was locked by the moderator) - "Come on people, I hear all this good stuff about Charlotte and no one wants to confront the main problem with this metro. Jobs are no more!! The cost of living in Charlotte is expensive compared to other metro's its size. Only housing is under average market. but... The pay here sucks!! so when you look at the numbers (salary/cost of living index) Charlotte would be in the bottom 10% of citites. I'm sure their are people that make a great living in Charlotte but if you come as a skilled worker or a non-banking slep you'll be working like a slave to be in that nice clay yard, cheap material home watching "Reno 911" rerunds thinking how to escape. Burglary is way out of control in this metro. I think it's because no one is home because there working all the time. You will see in a few years. Charlotte is the San Antonio of the east. All hype and no substance. Here are the good things. The weather in Charlotte is great. The people are pleasant, and non-sarcastic(love that). This is my observation of Charlotte. Move to Orlando or Jacksonville maybe even Phoenix. Better option's in my humble opinion."

While he was being sarcastic - did you know that Charlotte does indeed have a very high percentage of its population with college degrees? Can't remember the article but recently we were actually listed as the city with the most college degreed people on the whole eastern seaboard.
