This article solidifies how nightlife for African American's in Charlotte continues to struggle....Yes the article is a about 2years old...but very much still relevant.
there are 3 popular Black establishments in a 1 mile radius in Uptown. Sydneys, Sports Bar One and 7th Street Bar (not sure of the name on the last one).

2 years is a long time in the club circuit. I thought you moved out west?

And it's sooooooo much better in Phoenix????

That article used DC and Atlanta--the two "Black Meccas"--as the bases of comparison. Even with its struggles, the Black cultural scene in Charlotte is significantly far ahead of that of other major cities, including Phoenix.

yeah, of all the places to move to and comment on Black nightlife, AZ is probably top 5 for states to avoid.

Why did no one else contact the NAACP? It sounds fishy that many people contacted them the day after this happened. If African Americans have such a hard time finding night life, why don't you make your own. If there is a large market, what is the hang up. Bars and night clubs are easy profit centers, if you can deal with head ach. I just don't understand what is so appealing to African Americans to be around white snooty people.
